Childhood Immunisation
It is important that immunisations, starting at Pregnancy, are done on time to prevent disease, but it is never too late to start or continue. For all immunisations make an appointment at your general practice (family doctor).
Children are entitled to free immunisations for:
- tetanus
- diphtheria
- pertussis (whooping cough)
- rotavirus
- polio
- Hib
- hepatitis B
- pneumococcal disease
- measles
- mumps
- rubella
- chickenpox (varicella)
- human papillomavirus (HPV)
- meningococcal B
When your baby is born, he/she will be registered, with your consent, on the National Immunisation Register (NIR) and all your child’s immunisations will be recorded.
