Fees and Charges Description

There are no fees for services to public patients if you are lawfully in New Zealand and meet one of the eligibility criteria set by the Ministry of Health. If you do not meet the criteria, you will be required to pay for the full cost of any medical treatment you receive during your stay.

Te Roopu Whititora - Adult Kaupapa Maori Mental Health Service

We are a specialist Kaupapa Māori service for Māori, between the ages of 18 to 65 years, who are experiencing symptoms suggestive of psychosis or schizophrenia. We are culturally and clinically responsive to the needs of Whaiora and their Whānau through the stages of their journey. If you or your Whānau are worried about your safety or their safety, our service can be contacted directly.

Referral Process

If your symptoms are severe and you are having difficulties functioning in your everyday life, you can be referred directly to our team.  If your problem is very urgent, you will be seen the same day you are referred, walk-ins are welcomed.

People accessing NDHB Mental Health and Addiction Services are welcome to bring family/whānau, and/or other support people, or an advocate with them.

Regular referrers to Mental Health and Addiction Services, such as General Practitioners, receive accurate and useful information and regular liaison contact from Mental Health and Addiction Services.
