You may be referred to us by your GP if your symptoms are severe and you are having difficulties functioning in your everyday life. Sometimes there may be a waiting period before you are offered an appointment. If your problem is very urgent, you will be seen the same day you are referred.
People accessing NDHB Mental Health and Addiction Services are welcome to bring family/whanau, and/or other support people, or an advocate with them.
Regular referrers to Mental Health and Addiction Services, such as General Practitioners, receive accurate and useful information and regular liaison contact from Mental Health and Addiction Services.
Adult community mental health and addictions teams provide assessment and diagnosis, treatment, advice and referral to those affected by mental health and alcohol and other drug problems.
