Referrals are primarily received via phone, mail, fax or by self-presentation.
Clients are welcome to self refer.
Others who commonly refer to Mental Health and Addiction Services include General Practitioners, Probation Service, family/whanau, Police and staff working on the 0800 mental health line.
The Northland Child & Adolescent Service team provides acute and community services for children and young people (up to 19 years) who have significant mental health concerns.
The service includes assessment, therapeutic intervention from key workers and psychologists and psychiatry. This is a skilled multidisciplinary team including psychologists, psychiatrist, nurses, social workers, and occupational therapists.
