Call 0800 46 78 46.
It is preferred that referrers contact the team by telephone as this is a mobile team and staff may not always be on-site to attend to walk-in referrals. Telephone referrals may be made to the service through the following channels:
- General Practitioners - including after hours service
- Community agencies - e.g. Police, St John, Supporting Families, PACT and also Southern DHB
- Self presentation, friends family/whānau, concerned members of the public
If the referral is considered urgent, i.e. life threatening, immediate phone contact for consultation is vital.
The Emergency Psychiatric Service is a mobile 24-hour, 7-day a week service providing emergency services to people with acute mental health needs.
