Inpatient services are provided on Ward 23, Middlemore Hospital.  The inpatient interdisciplinary team consists of professionals representing the following disciplines: medicine, nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, clinical psychology/ neuropsychology, social work and dietetics.

The broad category of patients we care for are:

• stroke patients
• patients with other neurological involvement (for example: multiple sclerosis, Guillain Barre, hypoxic/ anoxic brain injury, cancer related neurologic deficits)
• patients with amputations or other musculoskeletal problems such as fractures, multitrauma, complicated joint replacements
• patients debilitated by prolonged and/or complicated hospital stays
