Ear Nurse Specialists

Our Ear Nurse Specialists provide treatment, information and support for children and young people and their whānau to address ear health concerns.

Services are provided for children and young people up to the age of 18 and include:

  • Assessment and ongoing monitoring of ear concerns (runny ears, glue ear, sore ears)
  • Tympanometry (test of the eardrum)
  • Ear wax removal (using microscope and suction)
  • Ear canal cleaning (aural toileting using microscope and suction)
  • Removal of foreign objects in the ear canal (cotton buds, beads)
  • Parental education and support
  • Links to other services
