When the opening on the tip of the penis is uncovered (usually after a circumcision) the opening can scar and narrow down to produce a meatal stenosis. This is dealt with by making a tiny cut in the opening to enlarge it (meatotomy). This is usually done under general anaesthetic as a daystay procedure. Occasionally it needs repeating.
