Skin Lesion Excision

Skin lesions such as cysts and tumours are removed by cutting around and under them with a scalpel or diathermy. Most patients are operated on as daystay patients under general anaesthesia. The tissue taken out is sent to the laboratory for analysis and patients are seen about a month postoperatively to check on the wounds and to confirm the nature of the lesion taken out.
