Dr. Rishi Bhattacharyya — Clinical Director & Consultant Radiologist

Dr. Rishi brings a rare combination of subspecialist depth and genuine accessibility to Auckland X-Ray Services — the kind of radiologist who is equally at home reading a complex head and neck case at Auckland Hospital and taking the time to walk a patient through their results in person.

Rishi completed his undergraduate medical training at the University of Auckland in 2014, before undertaking radiology training across two of Auckland's busiest public hospitals — Auckland and Middlemore. He was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Radiologists (FRANZCR) in 2020.

His subspecialty interest is head and neck radiology — a demanding and nuanced field that sits at the intersection of oncology, surgery, and neurology. He continues to practise in this area in the public sector at Auckland Hospital, bringing that subspecialist rigour back to every case he oversees at AXS.

As Clinical Director of Auckland X-Ray Services, Rishi leads a team built around a straightforward conviction: that specialist-level radiology should be within reach for every patient, not just those passing through a tertiary hospital. That philosophy shapes everything from the equipment chosen to the time taken with each report.
