Diabetic Foot Clinic
Held fortnightly in outpatients at ACH, this clinic aims to provide multidisciplinary care for those patients within ADHB catchment with active diabetic foot problems, including ulcers, tissue loss, infection, and architectural foot changes.
Care of this high risk group of patients is streamlined through timely consultation with relevant and appropriate specialty services to prevent recurrent hospital admissions and a view to reduce both minor and major amputation rates in diabetic patients.
A full assessment of patient needs is undertaken by a team of specialists made up of:
Vascular Surgeon, Diabetologist, Vascular Nurse Specialist, Podiatrist, Orthotics.
Infectious Diseases team available on request.
