Philosophy of care: I consider that pregnancy and birth are a normal part of life for healthy women; however I respect my clients’ needs which may change during the journey. I believe in respecting your choices and working together with you and those important to you. I will provide information and assistance to you to help you reach those decisions.
Back up midwife: My back up midwife's are Fran Dove and Yvonne Daji
Birth facilities attended: home birthing and Waitakere and North Shore Hospitals. I have access to Helensville and Birthcare if needed.
General bio: my name is Sanaz Khodaverdian. I migrated to New Zealand in 2002. I completed my midwifery training at Auckland University of Technology and I am a registered midwife. Being a midwife is a very special career and I consider it a privilege working with women and their families at such a wonderful time.
The uniqueness of maternity services in New Zealand made me more passionate to become a midwife and to offer continuity of care to women. I enjoy the satisfaction that comes from walking the journey to motherhood with a woman and her family and feel that being in an independent practice assists this process in the best possible way.
I love supporting women through normal labour and birth, always referring them to the appropriate professional necessary. My aim is to help every woman have a fulfilling childbirth experience that make her feel powerful in whatever way that is meaningful to the woman and her family.
I understand how difficult and stressful pregnancy can be for those migrant mothers and offer my full support to minimise these stressors. I speak English and Persian fluently.
