Service delivery during COVID-19

Staff are working from home but available via telephone and email for any advice or information required.

We can continue to process applications for the Total Mobility Scheme.

Our Accredited Visitor Service continues, but over the telephone.

We can accept new referrals for the service (and new applications for volunteer visitors!)

Our Social Connection groups, morning teas etc are of course on hold, though we are maintaining contact with those who attended, via the phone.

Staff anticipate returning to the office.

As our user group is generally over 70, we will be guided by government advice regarding when we will open our groups and other services again.

Age Concern believes everyone deservces a great future. We support older kiwis to have a healthy lifestyle, full of opportunities and protection from harm.

Age Concern Taupō promotes dignity, wellbeing, equity and respect and provide expert information and support services in response to older people's needs.

We provide the following services to the elderly of Taupō:

  • Support Services, Information, Advice and Personal Advocacy
  • Information Resources
  • Accredited Visiting Service
  • Education
  • Elder Abuse Response Service in South Waikato
  • Total Mobility Scheme
  • Loan of equipment
  • Other services such as Social Connections group, Information Health Related Speakers, Monthly Friendship Groups, Monthly lunches and a Carers Support Group.

We are active and vocal on relevant issues and work to ensure older people stay connected with their family, friends and community.

Free and membership based services are available. 

Donations play an important part in funding Age Concern Taupō, allowing us to provide essential services to older people in our community. Donations are welcome at any time.
