ATWC’s integrated Family, Early Education and Social Work services and programmes help to protect, nurture and provide opportunities for up to 3000 children, young people and their families across Auckland.
We aim to reconnect families/whānau and empower them to take control of their decision making so they can face the future with hope!
We run a residential parenting programme with the input of a team of counsellors and child and adult psychotherapists, and 2 preschools, in Ōtāhuhu and Papatoetoe.
Our Social Workers in Schools programme sees 30 qualified social workers across 49 primary, intermediate and secondary schools in the greater Auckland region, providing social work support to students and their families.
Youth Workers in Secondary Schools comprises a team of multi-disciplined staff working in 7 secondary schools in Manukau and Central Auckland supporting year 9 and 10 students to stay engaged in schooling and achieve educational success.
Family Start provides an early intervention home visiting service targeted at vulnerable families in Central Auckland and North Shore with children aged 0 to three years. This is a parenting program that enables families with young children to access a comprehensive range of welfare, health, education and other services they may need.
Engaging Priority Families is our service to enrol into early education, Māori, Pacific, low socio-economic and refugee families with children between 3-5, who have not previously been enrolled.
HIPPY is a Home Instruction for parents of Pre School Youngsters. It is a home-based family focus program delivered by one coordinator and three tutors in Ōtāhuhu.
