Communicare is a not-for-profit association which has been serving seniors and those with disability within the Auckland community for over 60 years.
Communicare is a non-denominational organisation catering to the diverse multi-ethnic population which reflects the changing ethos within Auckland.
We run 21 friendly centres in Central, East, West and South Auckland, including Franklin, serving more than 500 members weekly with the assistance of over 300 volunteers and 18 part time staff. Click here to see addresses and meeting days for each centre.
Each centre is open one day a week during school term time from 9.30am to 1pm.
Volunteer Helpers
Communicare depends on volunteer helpers for the running of our Friendship Centres. Do you have some time to give to helping others? If so, we would love to hear from you.
We need drivers to help transport our guests one day a week between 9.30am - 10am and 12.30pm - 1pm. Helpers to assist with crafts and activities or to help prepare morning tea and lunch one day a week. All volunteers are required to undergo a vetting process.
