Our Community Family worker and Community Connector advocate for a strong and health community.

Our Community Family worker co-ordinates or facilitates activities to fulfil individual, family or community needs that are brought to our attention. Click here to see the programmes run by the community family worker.

We also have a number of organisations who visit the Fiordland Community House to provide their services including Jubilee Budget Services, Mole Map, Loss and Grief Centre, Primary Mental Health - Brief Intervention, Autism Southland, Epilepsy NZ, Smokefree Southern, ACC Counselling, NZ Transport AA Mobile Unit (Drivers Licensing Unit), Southland Community Law, Alcohol & Drug Service, Fiordland Justice of the Peace, APM Employment Consultant, Adventure Development, ABLE Mental Health Support. We can advise when these services will next be visiting.

Alliance Counselling: Provides counselling to individuals, couples and families in the Fiordland area. Self referrals are available.

We have visiting Community Law lawyers on request. Fiordland Justices of the Peace have weekly visits for document certification every Tuesday from 12noon - 1.30pm.

If you have experienced negative effects due to Covid-19 our Community Connector is here to support you to find ways to positively move forward in these changing times, in a way that best meets your needs. Maybe you don't feel confident to deal with government agencies that may be able to assist you or perhaps you just need a listening ear and support to get back into life activities, our Community Connector is here to help. Self referrals are welcome.

We run a Community Shuttle Service Monday - Friday for Health, Work & Income, IRD, Immigration and any government department appointments in Invercargill with prior bookings. Charges will apply but you may be eligible for National Travel Assistance through the Ministry of Health.
