Hestia provides comprehensive family violence services for women and children who have experienced or are experiencing abuse in their home and live in the Hibiscus Coast and Rodney region. We can meet with you at home or another safe place to discuss your experiences and choices, help you to make safe plans for yourself and your children. Our refuge workers are experienced and provide confidential, non-judgmental support, whether or not you choose to leave the relationship. We can also help you with WINZ, lawyers, courts, housing etc and walk alongside you as you work towards achieving your goals and regaining safety.
We offer crisis assistance on a 24/7 crisis line and immediate emergency needs e.g. clothing, food parcels, access to medical assistance to replace prescriptions and requirements for children such as formula and bottles. When needed we also provide a safe house service which is based in the Rodney district.
If rehousing is necessary to gain safety we can assist with provision of furniture and household items.

Our community advocates work between the hours above, however we are available on our crisis line 24 hours a day. We will do admissions to our safe house 24 hours a day.

Our advocacy services are free.
We charge rent for families in our safe house when they have access to financial support. This is assessed on individual cases. The rent varies with the number of children. This is reviewed regularly. The accommodation is fully furnished but families provide their own food once financially able to do so.
