Level 4 |
We are still operating our GP clinic, just in a very different way. Most of our consults are now being conducted over the telephone, although anyone who needs to be seen face to face is decided by the doctors themselves during the telephone consultation. Prescriptions are still being completed as normal, just need to phone in the request, although all prescriptions are then collected from the pharmacy. We are frantically vaccinating all our over 65s with the flu shots. All this population are eligible for free flu vaccines. We are also providing flu vaccinations to all those who have respiratory, diabetes, or heart conditions and anyone who has had or currently has cancer. We are providing a “drive through” service on site at the Korowai Aroha Health Clinic and going to homes to vaccinate those who are unable or possibly anxious about leaving their “safe bubble”. Our telephones are still operating, although some of our teams have been stood down they are:
All the other services are operating by telephone and with limited face to face contact during this lockdown period, they are:

Level 3 | Operating as above |
Level 2 |
Korowai Aroha is open but entry into the Clinic is via a managed process by the reception team. As well as telephone consultations, patients who want face to face consultations are encouraged to call ahead. Patients are briefly triaged to assess if they are displaying Covid-like symptoms and if so, are requested to drive into the carpark and remain in their cars until a nurse or doctor can see them. We operate a managed isolation room for those patients who are not able to be triaged in their cars but masks are to be worn at all times. We practise social distancing and contact tracing in the waiting room and allow no more than six patients at a time to be seated there. Prescription requests are loaded into a template in the PMS and the doctors process them from that template after which they are despatched to the various pharmacies. |
Level 1 | All services are operating as normal and access is unrestricted. Social distancing and contact tracing is still practiced. |
