Rape Crisis provides support to survivors who have experienced sexual violence, whether it has occurred recently or in the past.  We also provide services to all supporting friends or whanau who have experienced sexual violence.  Our services include:

  • 24/7 telephone support and crisis line.
  • Face-to-face counselling for survivors of sexual violence, their friends and whanau.
  • Information, advocacy and support for those who choose to report to the police, are going to court, seeking medical advice, or whatever the survivor chooses is the best path at the time.
  • Information and referral service for male survivors of rape and sexual abuse.
  • Education programmes for students and youth
  • Education for community groups
  • Awareness-raising events and project development

All counselling, support and advocacy services are FREE.

Rape Crisis Dunedin is a member of the National Collective of Rape Crisis Aotearoa and abides by the philosophy of "Listen, Believe, Support" when counselling survivors of sexual abuse.

During office hours, survivors and support people are welcome to come in to the office for information, resources and support.  We hold a safe-space for those coming in to use our services or to just sit and have a warm drink.  We maintain a resource library for people to browse and borrow books from.

Telephone support operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including public holidays.

Office Hours:

Mon - Fri    9:00AM - 5:00PM 

Office is closed during public holidays.

Public Holidays: Open on all public holidays.
