Strengthening Families - Local Coordinators

Strengthening Families helps you get the best support for your family/whānau to thrive.
It brings together all the people and agencies that could help your family to reach their full potential. They work together collaboratively with you and discuss your family’s needs and identify what everyone is going to do to support your family. We focus on achieving your goals through action plans.
Thirteen New Zealand government agencies are actively involved with Strengthening Families along with hundreds of community-based services.
Our eight principles of Strengthening Families are:
- Family centred and strength based
- Early intervention prevention
- Voluntary for families
- Increases access to services
- Cultural diversity
- Supports collaboration
- Community based
- Receives contribution to fund.
We accept all willing and consensual families who have two or more agencies involved with them, and a family member under the age of 17 years.
The areas we cover include (but are not exclusive to) Auckland City East which includes Tamaki, Auckland City West, Auckland City Central, Otara, Mangere and Manukau.
Under 12 months, 1-4 years old, 5-12 years old, 13-17 years old, 18+ years old, Older adult
