Profile
I started working at Sexual Wellbeing Aotearoa (then known as Family Planning) in late 2002 – not long after my family and I emigrated from Scotland. My previous work in a community and adolescent clinic attached to Livingstone Hospital Edinburgh focused on sexual health and contraception, and I was eager to build on my knowledge in this area.
I was first inspired to focus on menopause after sitting in with Associate Professor Helen Roberts, who has extensive expertise in menopause care. She was so firm in her conviction of care for women at this time of their lives and was a role model for delivery of care to these women.
With its online appointments, Menopause Wellbeing offers a new way to deliver this important care, and I’m excited to be part of this initiative. I’m interested in health and wellbeing at menopause, and I look forward to treating and working with women at a time when they can often feel alone and unsupported.
