Sun Medics Skin Clinic is Hawke's Bay's dedicated full-service skin cancer clinic.
We specialise in the prevention, early detection, diagnosis and treatment of melanoma and other forms of skin cancer.

Staff

At Sun Medics Skin Clinic we are a friendly and professional team of doctors, nurses and support staff who will make every effort to ensure you receive the best possible care.
We have six experienced and highly trained doctors who can help with any skin cancer related concern.
‍Our nurses assist with skin checks, minor surgery and other treatments. They also manage post-operative care, and are a great source of advice and support.

Referral

We welcome referrals from GPs and other health professionals for:

  • Spot checks (for a specific lesion/s of concern)
  • Full body skin checks and Total Body Imaging / mole mapping
  • Skin cancer surgery from minor to complex including the face and lower legs

Fees and Charges Description

  • An initial skin appointment including full body skin check is usually 30 minutes and costs $220.
  • Follow-up appointments / skin checks are usually 15 minutes and cost $155.
  • For minor surgery, there are multiple factors that affect the cost (e.g. size of lesion, type of closure, theatre time). We will quote you before each procedure.

We are a Southern Cross Affiliated Provider and an nib First Choice member.

Skin Surgery

If surgery is required this is carried out at the clinic under local anaesthetic, making the procedure pain free and allowing you to return home comfortably afterwards. All follow-up care (e.g. suture removal, dressings, pathology results discussion) is routinely provided. Our trained nurses can also provide skin biopsies for appropriate lesions and follow-up care. Minor skin surgery Skin biopsies, mole removal, skin cancer excisions. ‍Advanced skin surgery More complex procedures such as skin grafts or flap reconstruction of nearly all body areas including the face, nose, ears, scalp and lower legs.

Dr Agata Kesy provides skin treatments using K-Laser Blue Derma - innovative laser technology that utilises blue light to produce a precise surgical effect, reduce tissue damage and stimulate skin to heal. Dr Kesy specialises in cosmetic lesion removal (moles, skin tags, seborrhoeic keratoses, sebaceous hyperplasia, angiomas) and offers pigmentation correction (age spots, sun pigment) in most skin types.

Parking

Napier: There is free marked parking on the street outside and across the road at the Marewa shops.  Accessible parking is at the rear of the building, and there is wheelchair access via a ramp at the front.

Havelock North: There is free parking in front of the clinic in the marked spaces. If these are full there is usually parking available on the roads around the clinic.
