Qualifications

Midwifery, New Zealand, 13 July 1994

Interests

Years of practice: Over 20 years

Philosophy of care: Until recently I have been working as a Clinical Charge Midwife at Waitakere Maternity Unit, specialising in women with complicated pregnancies and births. I have also been supporting midwives within the hospital system and have enjoyed the teaching which has been involved with that role. I am passionate about providing expert and specialist midwifery service to women who may have a complicated pregnancy or birth, while giving one on one care.

General Bio: Hi my name is Tracey Smith; I trained as a midwife in Aberdeen, Scotland 19 years ago, but was born in England. I came to New Zealand in 1994 and immediately loved the lifestyle and people so my husband and I emigrated here.

I have a great sense of humour and love spending time with my husband, son and daughter (kiwi kids!). When I can find spare time I enjoy reading and meeting up with friends and extended family.
