A home visiting specialist paediatric nursing team assisted by paediatric dietitians delivering nursing and dietary interventions for babies and children who are medically fragile, have a chronic illness or disability or who require post-discharge follow-up for 72 hours. This service provides specialist nursing care in the community.

Acute Care
Specialist nursing care typically for neonates and children with respiratory, gastric or febrile illness and cellulitis. Acute home visiting is for 72 hours post-discharge before handing over to the primary practitioner. More

Chronic Care
Specialist nursing and dietitian interventions typically for babies and children with chronic medical conditions and disabilities. Nursing case management is provided where appropriate. Palliative Care is often shared with Hospice, Starship and other providers. Apnoea monitoring as required. More

Neonatal Care
Specialist nursing care and follow-up in the transition period and until discharge to Well Child Provider. Interventions typically for neonates and children with respiratory, gastric and febrile illness. More
Charges
There are no charges for services to public patients if you are lawfully in New Zealand and meet one
of the Eligibility Direction’s specified criteria set by the Ministry of Health.
If you do not meet the criteria, you will be required to pay for the full costs of any medical treatment
you receive during your stay.
