Dr Pragati Gautama

Specialist

Qualifications

MB BS 1990 London; FDRHMNZ 2009; FRNZCGP 2010

Profile

Medical School training in the centre of London at the Royal London Medical School, was a fantastic start to a diverse and broad-based career.

Travelling to New Zealand in 1992 and a year in Taranaki triggered my passion for Rural Health and pursuing a life here. I have worked in almost all the rural hospitals in New Zealand (and a few in Australia) and spent nearly 2 years in Papua New Guinea.

While being a lifelong learner, hence a long list of qualifications and work experiences, a hands-on approach is my calling. Being a mother and part of a rural community, along with the impact of personal loss, has kept me grounded. I’ve relished the mix of working at the sharp end of medicine (Emergency and Rural Hospital Medicine)  as well as  Primary Care and Hospice,  which in contrast, allows a deep and long-lasting relationship with patients.

This concierge and premium service is based on the sort of doctor I would have wanted for myself and my family, as I moved around New Zealand, and as our needs changed. I hope I can be that Doctor for you.
