Dr David Chan was born and educated in Gisborne and graduated from Auckland Medical School in 1986. He has an interest in paediatrics and promoting overall health through fitness and exercise. He encourages an exercise based holistic approach to improve a patient's wellbeing. He is a keen skier, kite-boarder, kite-blader and cyclist. He has extensive knowlege of sports nutrition and training which he has utilised to complete a marathon, numerous half marathons, Auckland cross harbour swim, the Round Mt Taranaki bike race 4 times and Round Taupō bike race 12 times.
