Description

I-MED MRI provides premium Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) services to patients from across the Waikato at three Hamilton locations: Waikato Hospital (2 sites), Anglesea Clinic and Braemar Hospital.

As an industry leader in diagnostic imaging, I-MED MRI is focused on providing patients with immediate access to the highest quality of care available, in a professional and friendly environment.

Our radiologists are committed to excellence in patient care and management.

Patients will notice the friendly welcome they receive on arrival, our comfortable rooms and the relaxed environment we have created for them.

What is Radiology?
Radiological procedures are used for looking at the internal structures of the body, whether bone or soft tissue. Usually these examinations are carried out to:

  • diagnose disease states, such as cancer or heart disease
  • show the extent of injury to body structures
  • to aid in interventional procedures, such as angiography.

The Team

  • Medical Radiation Technologists (MRTs) or Radiographers perform your X-ray, and mammography examinations.
  • Sonographers are MRTs who perform your ultrasound examinations.
  • Radiologists are specialist doctors who read and understand your films. They will also be involved if you have an intravenous urogram (IVU), mammogram and a number of other ultrasound procedures.  They interpret the results of the images and send them to your doctor.

Information for Referrers

To refer a patient to I-MED Midland MRI please fax or post a referral to us.

Our reception staff will ring your patient to make the appointment, scheduling their scan to suit both the patient and an appropriate specialist radiologist.

We now have the referral form available in printable and downloadable Adobe Acrobat PDF format for referrers to use.

As our entire imaging is digital, we offer to electronically deliver all scans and reports, thus saving film and paper film bags. This digital technology provides high quality images to improve diagnostic quality of our exams and facilitates a quick turn-around of exam images and reports. Referring physicians have access to exam images and reports instantly over the web at their offices by using our COMRAD software.
