Formerly Southern DHB Diagnostic Testing - Southland
Southland Hospital's Diagnostic Testing Department provides specialised inpatient and outpatient diagnostic procedures in the fields of cardiology, respiratory, sleep, gastroenterology and vascular medicine.
Services include:
- Cardiology: Electrocardiogram (ECG); Ambulatory ECG; Event Monitoring; Exercise Tolerance Testing; Head-up Tilt-Table Testing; Echocardiography; Ambulatory Blood Pressure; and Pacemaker evaluation.
- Respiratory: Spirometry, Full Pulmonary Function Testing, Methacholine Challenges; Hypertonic Saline; Asthma Exercise; ENO Studies; and Mantoux testing.
- Sleep: Sleep Studies; CPAP and BiPAP treatment
- Gastroenterology: Ambulatory pH Monitoring
- Vascular: ABI Studies
Referral Expectations
Referrals for diagnostics tests must come either via your general practitioner, private specialist or hospital specialist. Self referral is not accepted.
