SerenePsych specialises in child and family therapy, offering unwavering support to individuals, couples, and families navigating various challenges. Their approach incorporates various therapeutic techniques and assessments, assuring a thorough response to individual psychological needs.

 

SerenePsych is dedicated to addressing various mental health concerns, such as depression, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, anxiety, grief, loss, trauma, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), relationship difficulties, behaviour and anger management, parenting challenges, eating disorders, sensory difficulties, ACC sensitive claims, and school refusal and more. 

SerenePsych uses various therapeutic techniques and counselling to support clients in overcoming their challenges. 

Staff

Madhu Munasinghe: Clinical Psychologist Supporting Diverse Populations
Madhu is originally from Sri Lanka, where she gained experience working with children and families affected by child abuse and neglect. She has lived in New Zealand since 2018, working at the Waikato DHB Infant, Child, Adolescent Mental Health Services (ICAMHS) and the Child Development Centre (CDC). Madhu's training included a range of evidence-based therapeutic techniques, building a diverse skill set that allows her to tailor her approach to effectively support children, teenagers, adults, couples, and families from various social and cultural backgrounds. Her training encompasses a range of evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including CBT (Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy), EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), and more. Deidre du Toit: Occupational Therapist Specialised in Child and Family Therapy
Deidre works with children, teenagers, families, and adults, employing therapeutic techniques tailored to meet the unique needs of her clients and their families.
With children and teenagers, Deidre specialises in addressing a variety of concerns such as behaviour problems, anger management, ADHD, anxiety, depression, disordered eating, grief and loss, oppositional defiance, low self-esteem, school-related challenges, peer relationships, coping with change, and issues related to divorce. She uses EMDR, ACT, Therapy (Play therapy) and more to address various mental health conditions. 
With adults, Deidre addresses anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, family conflicts, and parenting challenges. Read more about Deidre here.

Start: Head southwest on Bryce Street toward Anglesea Street.
 
Continue on Bryce Street: Follow Bryce Street, and then turn right onto Seddon Road.

At the Next Roundabout (3rd Exit): At the next roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Lake Road.
